Why do people still eat meat? Brief History

Much water has flowed since then, as our forefathers pitekantropnye first tasted the meat, so is unlikely someone could raise a doubt that meat cooking is less rich and ancient history than the history of mankind as a whole ...

And whether the meat?

It would seem, with the meat all started. The world revolves around meat, and meat fed a single person ... No Way! As a result of a long dispute, demagoguery, computing, research and scientific methods of poking his finger into the sky, historians unanimously agreed that our ancestors were with you vegetarians eat animal flesh, only in times of personal psychological crises.

Only with the advent of the Great Ice Age, when the usual diet in the form of fruits, nuts and vegetables became available to them, the unfortunate old people reluctantly had to start eating meat, in order not to sink into oblivion and not repeat the sad story of the dinosaurs. But the habit - second nature, as Aristotle would say (which, incidentally, was himself an ardent admirer of vegetarianism ), and even after the terrible cold old people continued nazheyat deli meats, either because of traditions, either because of the banal ignorance.

With the advent of the "table" Neanderthal roast beef and steaks changed, actually, and way of life of prehistoric man in general. Not only that due to high calorie meat transformed into the stomach, so also the modest ancient way of life was imposed as big and bold print as needed, this "meat" always has on hand. From this came the chickens, ducks, cows and other pigs.

But our man, who by that time had a great gourmet with respect to the above meat products, suddenly realized that it was time high Neanderthal cuisine, and, driven by fierce thirst for beauty, planted on a stick any yachting and thoughtfully sat by the hearth, not realizing that in doing so began an era of meat ...

The cult of flesh

Taoists have never eaten meat. Strict veto on the meat and spread the Buddha to his disciples, not to mention the aforementioned Aristotle and his arty philosopher friends. But the priests of all nations, bringing the meat as a sacrifice to the gods, themselves, and they ate. And how eating meat in France! As it was eaten in England, Spain and other European countries had won in the past glory of the greatest culinary cradle! Medieval, Renaissance, New Era...

For many ages nail any soiree was something meat. Meat on a spit of Scandinavian bustling "parties" Vikings. Lukulloy feasts and his famous veal scallops. Funny rosy piglets with an apple in the mouth of Louis XIV. Meat 'mode' trod the world by leaps and bounds. In those days, every self-respecting man was trying to impress their discerning guests, imprinting on a platter breath era in the meat version.

There were years, flew century, the Inquisition witch hunt, the expansion of the boundaries of States, the rustling of skirts, corsets, pouring wine, and meat continued to be the king of the table the gentlemen and plebeians. But it's XXI century. I can not say that the meat has evolved into something hitherto impossible and unthinkable. At this stage of development of human culture, we are doomed to an inevitable return to basics. History repeats itself, and this is probably the essence of our existence.

Yes, we are far removed from the ancient tribes and their cannibalism, and supermarket shelves modern cities just crammed with all sorts of food. With a little desire and great opportunity for any of us has the right to try something very exotic and terrible, like a fillet viper in Peking or ostrich feathers, wings of bread. And even the most ignorant in the culinary arts child will tell you without thinking at least 20 dishes of meat. But be that as it may, the flesh of slaughtered animals is no longer a cult, but merely an important nutrient necessary for the full advantages of modern homo sapiens'a.

With the new turn of history, we were drawn to the past. In the eyes of the new man on fire an invisible flame, which is probably a microscopic reflection of the ancient hearth, who basked in the glacial period prapra ... our grandfathers? Maybe this is why we so passionately drawn to newfangled dish of raw meat - carpaccio, which is no longer, produced only a lazy chef.
