How to diversify children's menu? Dishes of rice


Rice is the staple for more than half the population of our planet.  In the East, rice eaten each day.  No wonder the wish, "Bon Appetit" in literal translation from some oriental languages means "Help yourself with rice." 
 Rice grain is very useful and nutritious .  As rice is low in fat and high in carbohydrates, enough protein and essential minerals such as magnesium, potassium, phosphorus and calcium.  In this case there is no gluten in rice - which means that it can be administered in the diet, even for children with allergies to wheat.

 Typically, the diet of infants rice porridge is introduced as the first feeding after breast milk.  Nutritious, easily digestible and tasty, porridge made from rice grains contain a large number needed for a growing body of substances - vitamins and minerals.  Every mother wants her baby is fed on useful products, so today we will prepare rice dishes.
 Pilaf with chicken
 Of course, this dish is very different from traditional pilaf , but, nevertheless, it is very tasty and will enjoy not only your little gourmet, but you yourself.  This pilaf can give children a 8-10 month period.  For "child pilaf" I take a chicken breast without skin, a couple of medium-sized carrots, onions polgolovki, a little parsley or basil, and about half a cup of long grain rice.  Three carrots grated, onion cut into small cubes, finely chop parsley.  Boil until half chicken in one piece and then cut into small cubes and simmer until cooked together with onions and carrots and rice in the broth in which it was cooked.
 The peculiarity of this dish is that it is prepared without oil, and therefore it can not just have small children, but also to those who keep a diet and watching figure .  Carrots will give the rice a nice color.  For the adults in this dish, I add the curry seasoning, and the children after a year for flavor and you can use to put a small bay leaf for 5 minutes until tender.  Bay leaf contains essential oils that are beneficial for digestion, enhance immunity, and are useful for the organism as a whole.
 Rice hedgehogs
 Small rice meatballs are a great side dish with meat sauce for a little gourmet.  And adults can eat them as a separate dish with spicy cheese and garlic sauce.  To prepare the hedgehogs, at first I cook porridge from a glass of milk, 1 cup water and 3/4 cup of rice.  In the finished good porridge add beaten egg, a little olive oil, salt and chopped fresh dill to taste.  From the resulting mixture Lepley hedgehogs, and the carcass of them in a deep frying pan with a little water, under the cover.  Adult hedgehogs can not put out , and roll in breadcrumbs and fry in oil.
 To make sure your baby is no doubt that these hedgehogs, decorate them.  Cut the black olives, pitted.  Circles with holes will be eyed urchins, and half of olives - ezhinymi noses.
